It’s hard for me to decide which season I like the best, but I really like Fall. I started decorating kind of early this year because our mild summer put me in the mood. I’ve had my decorations out for a while now, and seem to be adding more. I hope you will enjoy my Fall decorations and maybe even get some inspiration too. You will see thrift store finds, art, pumpkins painted on found wood, upcycled, recycled… nothing is off limits in my hands. Many of the projects here have created DIY’s for and the links can be found below.
The Indian corn I use every year. There is no need to discard it once the season is over.
I like to use layers of fabrics and different lifts and levels to give the Fall decorations more interest.
The chicken painting is by a local artist, Hope Malott, you can find her here.
Acorns definitely scream fall, and they are free to boot!
This is my Grandmother’s tea cart and I have great memories of it as a child. Now I get to make new memories with it myself.
The box is from a prior project using upcycled wood flooring. See it here.
This bunting was from a previous tutorial, and you can find it here.
Little Mason Jars for twinkle lights.
This pumpkin painting was done by an artist friend of ours, Kelly Cameron, she gave it to my husband for his birthday one year. You can find her work here. We love it!
In a box of old photos that belonged to my Grandmother, I found this photo. It’s of some ladies standing among the corn stalks. I’m sure it is from the early 1900’s. It was a neat find. The holder that it’s on, I created by just spiraling wire.
This is a piece I did with my artist friend Kelly, and it’s done with polka dot tissue paper, and acrylic paints. You can see my post here.
I was at a thrift store a couple of weeks ago, and this unfinished wooden flag caught my eye. It had something like “We’re #1” outlined on one side and you were supposed to paint it in, and on the other side there was a felt football. Well, I decided I’d make it a fall flag. What do you think?
I just used a discarded piece of pallet wood to paint a quick pumpkin to create the little sign. I sanded it a little to give it a distressed look.
The Halloween apothecary bottles can be found here.
I made this sign last year, and you can find the How-To here.
These are from another pumpkin project I did from upcycled plywood and you can find it here.
This decoration was FREE! I found the basket at the recycling center, I cut the plumes from the flower garden and I painted a pumpkin on an old block of wood!!
This is a bunch of decorations, and I am always finding more to make… I’m running out of room to put them. Do you have that issue?
